ON Wednesday, July 13, the last meeting until September 7, speaker at Tenby Friendship Club was Linda Williams. She related her experience of holidaying in Ukraine in 2013.

Using photographs and illustrations from Ukrainian school children, (sent to the UK), Linda described her experiences with adults that she had met, along with their families, and the rural village she stayed in before travelling to Kiev now known as Kyiv. The contrast between rural areas to the modern city of Kyiv was described in detail.

The basic way of life in the village visited to the beautiful architecture and modern equipped buildings and hotels, roads etc in Kyiv showed a huge gulf between both areas visited.

Linda explained and described her experience with the people she met in the village in great detail, from the gardens of vegetables and fruit to the basic rooms, with lack of facilities. It was a very interesting talk, especially in the light of what is happening in Ukraine currently.

Members are reminded the Friendship Club is closed until September 7, for meet and greet.
