Sir, Figures recently received from the Poppy Village Offices. Aylesford, are that the 2017-2018 Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in the Tenby area raised £8,221.83p.

This sum includes wreath donations, church and Caldey Island collections/donations, and the various cadet forces collecting outdoors during the November campaign, not forgetting Mr. Gordon Prime, the area WWII veteran.

It must also be mentioned that the Tenby Trust raised the superb amount of £770 by organising a wonderful commemorative evening at the De Valence, in remembrance of sacrifices made in the 1st World War, 1914-18

Sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed during the past seven years, not least the local schools, various organisations, the shops, businesses, activity centres, garden centres, pubs, and. restaurants. I must also thank the surrounding area villagers of New Hedges, St. Florence, Jameston, Manorbier and Penally. If there are any additional amounts up to September 2019, it shall be mentioned in the Observer.

Please note, that it has been a privilege to be the Poppy Appeal Organiser for five years and wreath organiser for an additional two years, but now, due to increasing changes in my circumstances, l shall no longer be the RBL representative for the area.

If anyone or group of people would take on this voluntary role, please contact me on 01834 814142. I will provide the ordering forms, copies of the previous campaign and the protocol guidelines. This will ensure a smooth transition for the November 2019 campaign.
