Matters discussed at this month's meeting of Templeton Community Council were as follows: Two new members, Clr. Joanne Norman and Clr. Huw Davies, were welcomed. A successful quote had been received for repair of the fire escape at the Church Hall. Letters had been received from Victim Support, Shelter, and the Samaritans thanking the council for their donations. A notice of Code of Conduct for councillors was received from Pembrokeshire County Council. This would include a seminar to be held at the Queen's Hall in Narberth on July 29, which Clr. Priest and the council clerk would attend. Discussions took place following several items raised by Clr. Morse, including the post office closure, dropped kerb at Boar's Head Cross, visibility at Washfield Cross, the bus shelter at Cold Blow and the veranda at Templeton CP school. When planning matters were discussed, Clr. Morse declared an interest and left the meeting. There were no objections to the following planning applications: certificate of lawfulness for retention of independent dwelling at The Bungalow, Woodgreen Farm, Cold Blow, Narberth; erection of dwelling - site adjoining Bank House, Templeton; erection of agricultural shed on land to the south of Llys-y-Teg, Cold Blow, Narberth. Clr. Priest advised the council that the damaged pipe at the Church Hall had now been repaired, and that other items would need repair very soon. It was suggested that a letter be sent to the recent successful quote for decoration of the hall as to when he would be able to start. It was requested that details of the new clerk be sent to Pembrokeshire County Council and a notice placed inside and outside the post office. Clr. Griffiths recommended that the matter of the football field previously leased to Templeton Football Club, and now no longer in use, be re- appraised. This was agreed and letters would be sent to clarify. Clr. Norman expressed concern at the speed of traffic passing Barn Court and it was decided to write to the police and council to see if they could address this matter. Clr. Logan requested sponsorship for the hockey team at Templeton Primary School. Clr. Griffiths and Clr. Morse declared an interest and left the meeting. It was agreed that £100 be donated along with a congratulatory letter following their recent success in coming fourth in the Welsh trials and highly commended with their animation projects. A question was raised regarding the new sign, which had been erected at Goose Green. The council was informed that the units would be used for light industrial work. There being no other business, the next meeting was arranged for Thursday, September 12.
