Thirteen-year-old son Sam Veale successfully completed a sponsored 22-mile Pembrokeshire Coast path walk from Tenby to Freshwater East and back again, on Bank Holiday Monday, to raise money for friends in Bangladesh whose village was devastated in severe storms on May 10. At least 170 families lost their homes, as well as their crops, which was their main source of food.
Their homes were destroyed, they have no food and they have lost the few livestock they had. They are in urgent need of food and stronger materials to rebuild their homes, especially as it is still raining.
Sam kindly offered to do this walk to help raise money for them. He had beautiful weather to do it on Monday, and he walked the 22 miles in nine hours 45 minutes, leaving the Salterns car park in Tenby at 7.45 am and arriving back at 5.30 pm. He took lots of photos along the way, which brought out the best of the views and beaches in the lovely sunshine!
So far, he has raised £115 from the sponsorship form and an appeal on GoFundMe, with the promise of a few more donations to come. There is still time to donate until Sunday, June 3, when we will need to collect the money.
