Tavernspite School and the Friends of the School organisation are very grateful to Barclays Bank for match-funding to significantly increase the profits made at their Christmas fair.

The school enjoyed a brilliant community event when their fair was held just before Christmas. The whole school building was absolutely packed out, with everyone enjoying the wide range of activities and attractions on offer. They were particularly grateful to the Whitland and District Male Voice Choir who provided a wonderful festive performance.

The amount raised at the Christmas Fair was over £3,000 and of this, £750 was matched by Barclays through their community match-funding scheme. This was arranged through Alison Pearce, community co-ordinator for Barclays Bank, who is also a mum at the school. Barclays is committed to local communities and charities and hope that the money will make a real and lasting difference to the school.
