Despite weather warnings of heavy rain and wind the sun shone down on Saturday for the South Pembrokeshire Coastal Run for 2018.
This very popular motoring event was held to draw the curtain down on the Pembrokeshire County Motoring Event’s season for 2018, founded and organised by Jeff and Sian Edwards of Milford Haven in 2015 in conjunction with the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre.
From 9 am almost 100 motor vehicles/motorbikes assembled in the stunning grounds of the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre to create an eye catching display prior to the start of the 40 mile motoring tour at 11.30 am.
On crossing the start line all exhibits were waved a farewell from the Chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council; the Deputy Mayor of Pembroke Dock; and the manager of the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre, complete with the Pembrokeshire, Welsh and Union flags.
The Grand Parade was led by the motorbikes with several motorbikes from Blood Bike Wales (Pembrokeshire) doing a fantastic job as its outriders.
The motoring tour followed a route via - Pembroke, Lamphey, Stackpole, Castlemartin, Freshwater West, Angle - then on to West Angle Bay for a well earned break and a welcome cuppa in the Wavecrest Café!
The final leg of the tour was via the Speculation Inn, Maidenwells By Pass, Pembroke before their return to the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre to receive a warm welcome from the staff of the centre.
Jeff and Sian offer their grateful thanks to the entire staff of the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre for their support with this event, and also to the staff of the Wavecrest Café at West Angle Bay, and most importantly very grateful thanks go to everyone for their support and dedication on this event and on all the Pembrokeshire County Motoring Events during the 2018 season.
The Pembrokeshire County Motoring Events 2019 will commence with the Western Telegraph South Pembrokeshire and Carmarthen Bay Run 2019 on Sunday, April 10.
