Narberth Museum will be hosting a variety of events for all interests and ages throughout July and August. The series of talks with local historian Terry John continue on July 22, at 7.30, when he will be discussing Miniature Painting in the Tudor and Stuart Courts, while at the same time on August 12, the topic will be The Sea Trade in Tudor Tenby. Admission to Terry's events will be £4.50. From July 22 - September 6, the annual Landsker Quilters' exhibition will be displayed throughout the museum and viewing is included in the normal admission fee. For younger visitors there will be a series of drop-in cookery workshops every Wednesday and Thursday during the school holidays. These will again be included in the museum entry fee between 10.30 am and 4.30 pm and are based on recipes from across time in partnership with Narberth Food Festival which takes place on September 27 and 28 at the Town Moor, Narberth. The recipes will be: July 23 and 24 - Neolithic wild fruit pudding; July 30 and 31 -Medieval butter making; August 6 and 7 - Tudor 'gingered' bread; August 13 and 14 - Georgian 'whipt' syllabub; August 20 and 21- traditional Victorian lemonade and August 27 and 28 - wartime crumb fudge. When visiting the museum over the holidays, children are also invited to make badges and signs for this year's Children's Festival which takes place on August 16. This will be a fantastic opportunity to have fun and get creative before the big day when all of the handiwork will be on display around the Town Moor. From the historian to the haberdasher and the cook to the crafter, there is something for everyone at Narberth Museum this summer!
