Families arrived at Tenby museum recently to witness what happens when the doors close for the night.

The museum reopened to the public at 6 pm to share the stories from some of Tenby’s most well known characters.

The evening started off with the museum’s forgetful tour guide, so forgetful in fact the children had to rename her ‘Alex’ as she had lived in the museum so long she had forgotten her own name.

Together they all set off to meet some of the museum’s famous historians, who included - Leaky Porridge the Pirate; Nina Hamnett Queen of Bohemia; Thomas White the old Mayor of Tenby; George Ace Tenby’s Penny-farthing bike rider; and Peggy Davies the Bathing lady.

All the beautiful costumes were kindly sponsored by Griggles Costume shop.

The museum are extremely grateful for this donation to their event as it wouldn’t have been such a well dressed performance with out the help of Roland from Griggles and all his efforts.

All who attended thoroughly enjoyed hearing their tales of their past and enjoyed engaging with the actors.

The children got to take part in the experience that took them around the museum in search of hidden clues.

Once the code was cracked with a little help from the characters this lead them to their treasure box and all took home a badge or ‘night at the museum’ sticker!

Overall the night was a huge success over achieving expectations in demand of tickets for this one of event.

Ideas have been discussed where to capture this night as a regular occurrence because of the similarities its hold to a City’s dungeons experience.
