Students from Greenhill School will be topping Tenby’s Christmas tree this festive season with their creative handy work.

There will be plenty of festive fun tomorrow (Saturday) in the town as Santa arrives to ‘launch’ the start of the Yuletide season at the seaside resort with the Christmas lights switch-on.

The RNLI lifeboat crew will bring Santa and the Mayor into Tudor Square from 4 pm through a festive flurry of snow from the roof of Tenby House Hotel (weather permitting) to turn on the lights on the town Christmas tree in the grounds of St Mary’s Church.

This year the star topping the tree has been created by Year 9 students from Tenby’s Greenhill School.

“We’re over the moon with what the students have manage to make, as the solar-powered stars are really excellent,” Clr. Mrs. Tracey Evans told her fellow councillors at Tuesday night’s meeting of Tenby town council.

“If you want to see the fruits of their labour, then come along to the big switch-on this Saturday,” she added.
