Members of Tenby Town Council are to meet with Pembrokeshire County Council’s legal department in the new year to focus on introducing a bye-law banning street traders from parts of the resort.
Local councillors have been investigating their options to get a bye-law introduced to ban ‘service providers’ from the town, and are hoping that local AMs can take the matter to the Welsh Assembly Government, with the possibility on introducing it as an ‘All Wales Act’.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the town clerk, Andrew Davies, told members that a meeting had been arranged with PCC’s legal representative, Rhian Young, and also the authority’s street care manager, Marc Owen, and senior traffic engineer, Ben Blake, for January 24, to discuss how to take the matter forward.
Mr. Davies also told councillors that he had written to local MP, Simon Hart, on the issue, but had yet to receive a response.
