Storm Francis is causing issues this morning in the locality - with the Carew to Tenby road at Gumfreston closed due to flooding; and Kilgetty to Pentlepoir closed due to fallen tree (local diversions in place).

Carew Bridge is flooded due to high tide, but however is passible with care.

The A4115 Crosshands to Templeton road is also flooded.

Weather warnings were issued last night for strong winds and throughout today, with wind speeds expected to exceed even those brought by Storm Ellen towards the end of last week.

Shortly before 7 am this morning fire crews from Whitland, Carmarthen and Swansea Central attended a water rescue at a camp site near St Clears.

Nine people and two dogs were rescued, from the flooded camp site, by Fire Service personnel using a swift rescue sledge, lines and wading gear. Firefighters left the incident at 9.17 am.

Fire crews from Tenby and Narberth also attended a flooding incident at a caravan park in Wiseman’s Bridge, shortly after 9 am, where approximately 30 occupants were evacuated from the site, with assistance from the Fire Service.

12 caravans were removed from the site, with assistance from the site owner.

Firefighters administered medical treatment to a male casualty before transferring him to the care of the Ambulance Service. The Fire Service left the incident at 11.48 am.
