Concern over the flooding of a property in Narberth's Springfield Park has been highlighted for the second month running at the town's council meeting.

Four weeks ago, Clr. Mrs. Sue Rees raised the matter when she reported that a resident had been flooded twice and she then called for Pembrokeshire County Council to take action to prevent it happening again.

At Tuesday night's October meeting, councillors were informed that the area was 'under investigation' by the local authority, but a resolution would only be sought with 'strong individual and community support'.

"I saw those floods beginning, in action and the end result and the flooding came from Bushes Lane," said Clr. Mrs. Rees. "It was an absolute river there.

"As remedial maintenance, the council needs to make a gully the entire width of Bushes Lane to capture the water before it goes any further and then direct it down a manhole to help stop it happening again.

"At least then they will have made an attempt and they can then move the obstacles they have put there, because there is no light there and someone if going to trip over the sandbags and 'men at work' signs and break their neck and Pembrokeshire County Council is going to be liable.

"The council needs to do something, and do something now."
