Narberth Town Council has agreed a standstill budget for 2012.
At their meeting first meeting of the new year on Tuesday night, members agreed to keep the precept for 2012/13 at £36,575.
This is the second year running the figure has been the same. Last year, it was increased by £1,575 - the first rise for three years.
But there was disappointment from one former Mayor, Clr. Henry Langen, who objected that there was no provision this year for a donation towards allotments and only a £500 gift for the museum.
Clr. Eric Feetham proposed that the precept be accepted and was seconded by Clr. Mrs. Sue Rees. All were in agreement, with the exception of Clr. Langen, who opposed, it and Clr. Daniel Duckfield, who abstained.
The precept included a new pot for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations which had been created, with the sum of £1,500 being set aside in anticipation of events in the town.
Elsewhere, there were donations of £1,500 for the Queen's Hall, £1,000 for Narberth Bus Stop, £300 for Narberth in Bloom, £500 for the Friends of the Lee Davies Day Centre, £250 for Civic Week, £100 for the Winter Carnival and £250 each for the town's youth cricket, football and rugby, respectively.
Meanwhile, the sum of £5,000 each was set aside for Christmas lights and the Town Hall building maintenance, £2,800 both for environmental improvements and burial ground maintenance, and £1,650 for Narberth Castle maintenance.
In addition, there was £8,600 for the clerk's salary, £1,750 for the clerk's expenses, £2,000 to cover the Mayor's expenses, £1,760 for civic functions, £250 for training and £100 each for members' allowance and advertising.
There was, however, no donation to the play park committee this year. They received £5,000 last year and are now raising funds for further equipment themselves.
