St Florence Church in Wales School held a community Nativity performance this month...with a difference!

With amazing support from the community the village became the stage for the show on December 8.

The journey started at Grandiflora where pupils from Year Six welcomed the visitors and performed a selection of songs, conducted by the wonderful Mrs. Rebecca Evans.

The next stop and the start of the Nativity story was at Cadwallader Court where the residents created a magical setting, decorating houses and gardens to welcome visitors.

From here the journey continued to St Florence Church where the Angel Gabriel told Mary of the good news and the pupils performed a number of songs, with the whole community was welcomed by Father Paul.

The star carried by the pupils led the way to the next station where they were soon followed by the parents, pupils, Mary, Joseph and the donkey (Ruby the pony), but there was no room at the inn! However, local establishment the Sun Inn did manage to serve refreshments to the pupils and guests!

Mary and Joseph continued their journey to find somewhere to stay, which brought them to the Parsonage Inn, where they were able to find a stable to welcome the new born king, with St Florence Community Choir joining pupils in performing a selection of songs.

A fantastic night was had by all, with the pupils performing amazingly and bringing the festive feeling to the community.

None of this would have been possible without the wonderful support from the village including - Dyfed-Powys Police and PCSOs who helped to direct traffic and ensure safety for all.

Thanks goes to the community council, villagers and past pupils who supported in many ways including lighting the way and helping to marshall the event.

Thanks also goes to local businesses for allowing the school to use their grounds as the various stations.

All the staff and pupils at St Florence Church in Wales School, would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year -Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda!
