Nine sporty friends have formed a fundraising group that will begin a 6,500 mile charity journey today (Friday) with the aim to end their efforts on the last day of 2020.
The Dreamcatchers from in and roundthe Tenby area comprising of - Caroline Cumberlin, Lana Brace, Jo Carlile, Anne Rossiter, Ali Rees, Cindy Richards, Tracey Scotcher, Amy Drewett, Philippa Graham, Deb Williams, Evie Fowke, and Nina Goldsworthy are aiming to raise £1,500 towards two charities that serve the Pembrokeshire community - Air Ambulance Wales and Get the Boys a Lift.
“We’re all positive women who support each other through endurance events and have put our heads together and decided to come together to raise money for local charities that have been affected by the pandemic,” explained Caroline.
“We understand that it’s a difficult financial time for everybody so we decided on a challenge that we felt was worthwhile enough to warrant donations.
“This will be a 6500 mile journey of endurance beginning on September 12 with the Three Welsh Peak Challenge and continue for three months in what has been an incredibly challenging year incorporating miles of swimming, cycling and running/walking towards the finish line!” she added.
The fundraisers would like to thank Harbourwealth for kickstarting donations with £150; Big Brums for sponsoring tops; and Manorbier and Post Office Stores for sponsoring jackets.
