SpanJazz returns with Groucho Club, for a wonderful evening of Jazz on Thursday, August 10, at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth.

This electric five piece group from Swansea mix warm Welsh wit and Jazz with rock and funk elements, making for a dynamic blend of melody, rhythm and improvisation. The Groucho Club very much put their own stamp on some well-chosen material, with a mix of tunes from Chick Corea, Duke Ellington, and the Yellowjackets; to name a few.

The bands performances are an impeccable mixture of energy, fiery funk, smooth grooves and powerful solos, leaving audiences mesmerised. The Groucho Club tackle the often complex material with terrific verve and skill. All five are highly accomplished musicians and take such pride in their playing; their enthusiasm whilst performing is testament to this.

Span Arts’ long-running jazz monthly takes place in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere at the wonderful Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth. With real ales, a meal available and great foot-tapping music, this venue is the perfect environment for this spectacular event.
