Span Arts is thrilled to announce the launch of its new crowdfunding campaign at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/spanarts which has been established to raise core funds to help Span Arts maintain the current number and variety of acts and low ticket prices.
Span Arts’ mission is to provide Arts for Everyone by presenting a diverse and varied programme of over 50 events per year of live music, comedy, theatre for adults and families and workshops and events at affordable prices.
They have has brought various household names to Pembrokeshire, such as Squeeze, Charlotte Church, Dreadzone, Kate Nash and comedians such as Alan Carr, Shappi Korsandi and Mark Steel.
Span Arts relies heavily on small pots of funding and ticket sales to exist. Although Span Arts has managed to survive for nearly 30 years, it is finding the current tough economic climate of austerity and the cuts in arts funding difficult and cannot sustain the current number and quality of events and low ticket prices on its existing level of income.
As a charity, Span Arts has always depended on fundraising, volunteer support, sponsorship and grants to enable it to provide a varied programme at affordable prices. This year, Span Arts is launching a crowdfunding campaign as it needs to raise funds to continue to run a brilliant, varied and affordable programme of live arts and entertainment.
Crowdfunding is a way of raising finance by asking a large number of people to donate a small amount of money each. You can support Span Arts by donating now and you will receive a heartfelt sung thank you from Cor Pawb, a mass gathering of community choirs and children brought together by Span Arts Cheerful Project Team to form a powerful intergenerational choir.
There are plenty of other rewards too - from handmade medals from the Cheerful Project Team to free weekend festival tickets for Narberth A Cappella Voice Festival 2016. There are also backstage passes, Span Arts t-shirts and much more.
With your support, Span Arts will be able to continue to run a brilliant and varied programme of live arts and entertainment that is accessible to all by donating as much or as little as you can. Your donation will help Span Arts to survive and will provide the people of South West Wales with the opportunity to have a great night out for another 30 years!
