Quality stock sold to a good level in both the sheep and ram rings at last Friday's sheep sale at Whitland Mart although entries were down to just 50 rams, 56 ewes and 80 store lambs.
Rams peaked at £252 for a yearling from Thomas and Son, Cildywyll, Llanddowror. Other leading yearling prices included £204 from Williams, Ty Cynog, Parc Cynog Farm, who also sold at £147. Ram lambs sold to a top price of £152 from Davies, Ffordd Uchaf, Llanstephan.
A small entry of breeding ewes forward reached a top price of £65 from Thomas, Penlan Home Farm, Llanfynydd, and store lambs sold to £45 from Earle, Llwyncrwn Farm, Penybont.
