Tomorrow’s (Saturday) Santa Run will kick-off a feast of Yuletide festivities in Tenby, with Father Christmas himself arriving later in the day via lifeboat to turn on the festive lights.

Tenby Round Table will be hosting their second Santa Run through the town, with the event due to start at 12 noon, and registration from 11 am.

The 3k fun run route goes through the centre of the Tenby and round the harbour.

Entry (which includes Santa suits ready for the race) is open to everyone, but the Santa suits are only available in adult sizes.

The fun run is part of a day of events planned by Tenby Town Council and Tenby Chamber of Trade and Tourism, with a range of entertainment taking place in Tudor Square, throughout the day.

At 4 pm, Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, will set off down to Tenby Lifeboat Station to join the crew of the Hayden Miller as they launch at 4.15 pm to head out towards Caldey to meet Father Christmas.

The Hayden Miller will bring Father Christmas and the Mayor back on shore and then they will board the inshore lifeboat to be towed into the Square through a festive flurry of snow from the roof of Tenby House Hotel to turn on the lights on the town Christmas tree in the grounds of St. Mary’s Church.

Following this, the trio will be conveyed by Tenby Fire Brigade up to the De Valence, where Father Christmas will be welcoming children into his grotto.

Children are encouraged to wear festive fancy dress which will be judged by the Mayor and prizes awarded at the Christmas Family Fun Night at the venue.

Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, Clr. Paul Rapi said that the day and Christmas fun night at the De Valence promised plenty of ‘drink, food and jolliment’ throughout.
