In May, the members of St. Elidyr's held a successful Sunday lunch as a fundraiser for the church. We served a carvery lunch of beef or turkey, with a vegetarian option, and a large selection of sweets. We were all kept busy, including the men. The bar was open so that guests could order drinks. The next lunch will be on Sunday November 30. The next event is the Open Gardens on Sunday, from 2 to 6 pm, in the village of East Williamston and Cold Inn. Meet at the Community Hall for tickets to visit the seven gardens open this year. Because of lack of parking at some gardens, a taxi service is on offer - or you could walk to them. Following, or during, your garden visits, a Victorian tea is served in the hall. Cost is £5 inclusive. Everyone is hoping for a dry day! The next event will be a strawberry tea held in the garden of member Grace at Lawrich Park, Clayford Road, on Sunday, July 27, from 2 to 6 pm. Members do like food to be involved in fundraising events and hope that you will be able to join us.
