Plans are being discussed with a view to carrying out repair work to Tenby’s railway bridge.
Speaking at a recent meeting of Tenby Town Council, Clr. Mike Evans said that a number of people had expressed concern at the amount of weed growth on the bridge along Narberth Road and whether it was being destabilised.
The town clerk, Andrew Davies, told members that he had been instructed to contact Pembrokeshire County Council to try and get a structural survey undertaken to see if there was a problem.
Mr. Davies told councillors at their meeting on Tuesday night that he had contacted Darren Thomas, PCC’s head of highways, to see if it was their responsibility.
“The carriageway itself is, but the bridge it’s on isn’t, so I contacted Network Rail, but I’ve heard nothing back from them, but I copied Marc Owen, head of Streetcare, into the e-mail to Mr. Thomas and he has asked one of his inspectors to liaise with Network Rail and report back,” explained Mr. Davies.
Clr. Trevor Hallett said that the bridge was important and in need of ‘drastic’ repair work.
