David Jones from Narberth has been awarded the coveted Leading Wales Award, which recognises and celebrates outstanding leaders across Wales. The ceremony, held at the Hilton Hotel, Cardiff, last month, marked the sixth consecutive year of the awards.
David, managing director at Princes Gate Spring Water, was one of the three finalists in the businesses with fewer than 50 employees category, sponsored by the Federation of Small Businesses.
David's win is testimony to his multi-faceted success in business in addition to his skills at leading and propelling strong and dynamic teams forward, yielding considerable commercial gains.
Judges commented on David's key role in driving Princes Gate Spring Water to what is now 'a household Welsh brand'.
The Leading Wales Awards recognise great leadership at all levels across the public, private and voluntary sectors in Wales, and celebrate individuals whose leadership skills have made a strong impact and resulted in positive change within their organisations.
Barbara Chidgey, spokesperson for the Leading Wales Awards, said: "David Jones is a tremendous example of the impact of great leadership skills on an organisation."
Since its re-brand in 2007, Princes Gate Spring Water has gone from strength to strength, reporting double digit growth annually - bucking the current economic trend considerably. This growth is set to continue with recent high-profile listings, including Tesco on an all-Wales basis. David's commitment to his brand, his team and the longevity and commercial health of his business was noted and rewarded accordingly with this much-deserved accolade.
