Royal Mail has confirmed this week that the company is seeking to relocate its delivery office in Spring Gardens, Narberth.

This would be to a more suitable fit-for-purpose site within a three-mile radius of the current office.

Royal Mail spokeswoman, Val Bodden, said: "We are grateful for the help and support we have been receiving from the local authority with this project.

"When more detailed information becomes available, our staff at Narberth will be the first to be informed."

County Clr. Wynne Evans, who represents Narberth on Pembrokeshire County Council, said: "For over two years, I have tried to provide Royal Mail with possible new premises for them to consider.

"This news will be to many nearby residents in Spring Gardens most welcome, and in particular, I'm sure this will be welcomed by staff also, as they have had to endure carrying mail a distance from their vechicle store, as well as often not being able to park their vans outside the sorting office."
