Extra car parking will be built near the marina boatyard in Milford Haven with room for 23 vehicles

An application by Milford Haven Port Authority to create more parking on a grass verge at Nelson Quay, over the road from the existing commercial premises and near Milford Haven Museum, has been approved by council planners.

A report outlining the planning decision states that the sire is within the Hub Town of Milford Haven where there is a presumption in favour of development and it meets another planning policy which promotes development for port related facilities and infrastructure.

It is also within the town’s defined conservation area.

It will provide an area of car parking for 23 vehicles, including two disabled parking spaces with levelling works, resurfacing, laying of kerbs and the erection of a retaining wall.

“The proposed car parking area would be located in proximity to the marina and the marina boatyard and be of benefit to users of both commercial enterprises,” adds, as well as accessible to visiting members of the public.

A planning condition requiring details of tactile paving and dropped kerbs to be submitted prior to the commencement of development has been imposed on the permission.
