The development of a holiday business near Narberth has been supported by Pembrokeshire County Council’s planning committee.

The Croft, between Princes Gate and Ludchurch, will see an extra five holiday cottages - of two and three bedrooms - built on site.

There were some questions raised about a ‘cow spots’ appearance of stone and render indicated on the plans, with further details to be submitted before delegated approval is given.

Committee chairman Clr. Jacob Williams said it “looks awful” in his opinion.

Four of the holiday cottages will be single storey, terraced units replacing “a large, unattractive agricultural building,” with the fifth cottage a two-storey building behind the existing farmhouse.

The site is not currently used for agriculture with the farmhouse providing bed and breakfast accommodation and a converted barn providing two self-catering holiday cottages, a planning report stated.

There would also be a single storey service building to provide additional dining and laundry facilities built.
