Councillors in Tenby have welcomed the potential expansion of a local brewing business.

An application from Mr. Robert Faulkner, of the Tenby Brewing Co Ltd, based at Unit 15, of The Salterns, for a ‘change of use’ from B1 to B2, at neighbouring units 16 to 17, was given the thumbs up by members of Tenby Town Council at their meeting on Tuesday night.

The town clerk told councillors that it was an ‘expansion’ of the brewing facilities at the Salterns when discussing the plans, with Clr. Trevor Hallett calling it a ‘good move’ from the company, who released their first commercial beer in early 2015.

Councillors unanimously recommended approval of the application, with Tenby Civic Society also backing the plans.

Their recommendations will now be passed on to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
