As chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council it gives me great pleasure to wish you all the compliments of the season.

I hope you had a joyous Christmas spending time with your family and friends and enjoying some-well deserved rest time after another busy year.

We are painfully aware of how there are many people who do not have a roof over their heads and others who are desperately lonely. We must all do what we can to help those in need.

It is indeed heartening to see the selfless efforts of many people in Pembrokeshire who put on Christmas lunches for those who would otherwise spend the special day on their own.

This spirit of caring is an inspiration to us all and is one of the features which marks out Pembrokeshire. It is a county where the residents care about each other.

As chairman of the council it has been an immense privilege to see wonderful examples of creative communities and individuals where so much is accomplished. We are richly endowed with great people as well as stunning landscapes and beaches.

As we enter 2020 and a new decade of the twenty-first century I wish you all a prosperous, peaceful and happy New Year.

Dr Simon Hancock

Chairman, Pembrokeshire County Council
