ONE of the last weeks in the 2025-26 term of current Pembroke Dock Mayor Cllr Michele Wiggins was, in her own words, a lovely week.
During the week, Pennar Hall Pacers enjoyed a beautiful walk where there were six taking part. Michele then helped at Pennar halls warm rooms with Helen, Tony, Lionel, Simon and Sharon. This first started in October 2022 when a lot of warm rooms first started up.
Accompanied by Sarah, Caroline and Mandy from Pembroke Dock Town Council, Michele met with Sharon and Ellie from Milford Haven Port authority on April 23.
As part of her last fundraiser as Mayor, walking all of Pembroke Dock, Sharon kindly gave the Cllr Wiggins and her cohort an informative tour.
“We enjoyed seeing all the works which had been done by the Port. It was also lovely to see how many businesses that were in there,” said the Mayor. “We also saw the hangar where the Millennium falcon was built.
“I had never been to the Ferry terminal before either so it was lovely to go in there too. We did actually walk two miles this morning as well.
“Thank you very much to everyone for their support this morning to help me with my challenge, it’s very much appreciated.”
As part of her fundraiser, Michele finished walking Llanreath in beautiful sunshine and was glad to tick the steep hill of her list.
“Llanreath has a post box and a defibrillator in Chapel road. Victoria road is so long it has three street name posts along a beautiful part of Pembroke Dock.
“It has stunning views of the beach and the golf course.”
She also laid a wreath for the council during the Remembrance Service at Freshwater West on the Saturday.
Michele promoted Pennar hall share, open to anyone, and the monthly bingo on Sunday added: “Pennar Hall’s community garden is looking lovely and can be opened to suit individual needs.”
She met Claire from Forever 11 who offered to accompany Michele on her walk. “I really appreciate all the help and support I’ve been given.”
Michele also met up with the Mayors she had met this year in her term. “We’ve all got on really well and hadn’t realised the friends I would make taking on this role.”
Paul Sartori Grand Opening
On Friday, May 1, Mayor Michele will lead the official grand opening of the newly extended Paul Sartori store in Bierspool, London Road.
Much hard work has gone into creating this fantastic larger space, full of even more pre-loved goods!
There will be a raffle running all day and 20 per cent off all purchases in store, so it is the perfect time to pop in, grab a bargain, say hello to Kelly and her team, and support your local hospice at home charity.
Every purchase helps the Paul Sartori Foundation continue providing vital care across Pembrokeshire.
The current 2025-26 term of Pembroke Dock’s Mayor finishes at the upcoming Annual Meeting of the Town Council, scheduled for Monday, May 11. At the time of writing, a Mayor-elect had not been announced.
