Cambridge Touring Theatre will be bringing their joyful, larger-than-life, musical adaptation of Robin Hood The Musical to Pembroke Castle on Thursday, August 13, in an explosion of action and comedy for all the family.

Filled with catchy songs, heroic characters and extraordinary adventures, this lively and funny tale is brought to life by a professional cast of highly experienced performers for families and includes live music, dancing, audience interaction and a wide range of pranks appealing to both children and adults alike. Join the hero, Robin Hood, on his adventures with Maid Marion, Little John and Friar Tuck as they attempt to overthrow the evil Sheriff of Nottingham and his sidekick, the Abbess. Will Robin save the day? 

The show is best suited to children age three-12 and their families. Boys and girls are invited to come along dressed in their best Sherwood fashion. The show is being taken all around the UK and Pembroke Castle is sure to be one of the best settings for this wonderful family show. Cambridge Touring Theatre have been getting rave reviews, The Guardian commented ‘...has families rolling around with laughter.’

The performance starts at 6 pm and will last two hours, including a 20 minute interval during which the castle cafe will be available for refreshments. It is an outdoor performance which will continue in wet weather so visitors are advised to dress for the weather. Folding chairs will be made available at no extra cost, or visitors can bring their own folding chairs and picnics.

Tickets are available through www.pembrokecastle.co.uk or at the castle gift shop and are £10 per adult, £7 per senior (over 65), £7 per child (three-16) and children under three are free.  

There will also be a children’s workshop for children who want to get even more involved, the company offers a 45 minute drama workshop before each performance. The workshop starts at 4.30 pm and will finish approximately 5.25 pm. Here children aged five-10 years can explore the story of Robin Hood, take part in their own exciting adventures and meet some of the characters from the play.

Tickets for the workshop are separate from the performance tickets and are limited to 30 children taking part so advance booking is essential for this. These tickets are £3 per child, and all children must be accompanied by at least one adult. Adults accompanying children attending the workshop must either pay for standard castle admissions £6, or purchase an adults ticket to watch the evening show.
