Motorists could soon be charged for parking in Narberth.

Pembrokeshire County Council are proposing intrioducing charging at the Town Moor car park.

The matter is due to come before the local authority's cabinet on Monday when members will decide whether or not to either increase or introduce charges at its 18 non-seasonal chargeable car parks.

One of those included in the scheme is the Town Moor which is currently free of charge.

If the proposal goes ahead, motorists will be charged 40p for up to two hours, 50p for up to four hours and £1 per day.

Narberth Town Council are to now write to their local County Councillor, Wynne Evans, asking him what his plan of action is with regard to the local authority introducing car parking charges at the Town Moor car park.

"The Town Moor car park is Common Land," Clr. David Norcross said on Tuesday night, in proposing the council contact Clr. Evans.

"We need to ask Clr. Evans what he is doing about it for the good of Narberth," he said.
