Phil Stodds was brought up on a Pembrokeshire farm by a loving, if unconventional family. Schooling was more about sports than books.

After a semi-professional rugby career alongside building a successful business, he returned to his calling to be a farmer.

This is where he began to write about his and others’ life experiences in poems. Even though Phil is dyslexic, this does not hold him back. His life has, let’s say, been very colourful and as his minister says, “Phil will go where angels fear to tread.”

Now a new publication ‘Poems from the Heart’ reveals more about his life experiences and others.

“The book is about the folks that knocked me down, the ones that picked me up, that broke me, that mended me - how I dealt with life’s lesson, the beauty of Pembrokeshire coastal farm,” said Phil.

“Miracles of the farm life I help bring into this world daily. The injustices of the world we live in. Also, the people that have inspired me along life’s path, the lovers that have come and gone and the one that has stayed. All mixed in with my mad caring family that taught me that there is no such word as can’t.”

‘Poems from the Heart by Phil Stodds is published by Austin Macauley Publishers and is available on Austinmacauley.com and Amazon and all good booksellers.
