A large gathering of family and friends attended the funeral of Paddy which took place on Friday, May 13 at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth.

Paddy passed away peacefully on April 22 at Withybush Hospital.

A native of Narberth, Paddy was predeceased by his wife Melrose Smiddy in April 2020.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Huw George, the bearers were grandsons Matthew and David Johns John Smiddy, family friend Gareth Jenkins.

Because of his love of snooker, the coffin was adorned with a floral snooker table and carried personal messages from his immediate family.

A simple service was held with the Hymn Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer and the Lord’s Prayer said. Music by Foster and Allen and Neil Diamond were played.

The Eulogy was read on behalf of the family by Rev Huw George.

Mourners were Peter and Wendy; Michael and Gwyneth; grandchildren Matthew, Kerrie, David, Amy, John, Becky; great grandchildren Noah, Jacob, Oliver, Molly, Rhys; brother and sister-in-law Michael and Jean Smiddy together with other relatives.

Paddy’s ashes were laid to rest with his late wife.

Unable to attend were grandson Christopher Smiddy, sister Margaret Tipper, sister and brother in law Kathleen and Marcus Soar.

There were family flowers only, with donations in memory of Paddy made payable to Paul Sartori Foundations c/o Funeral Directors Messrs W & M J Rossiter & Sons Ltd Landsker House, 21 Station Road, Narberth, SA67 7DR who carried out the funeral arrangements.
