MR. D. ROWLANDS

SAUNDERSFOOT

The death occurred on November 20, at Withybush Hospital, of Mr. David Rowlands, of Scandinavia Heights, Saundersfoot. He was 93.

A native of Saundersfoot, David was born in Woodbine Cottage, Railway Street.

David was in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, achieving the rank of Captain.

He was also involved in the D Day landings in 1944 during the Second World War.

On leaving the Army, David returned to Saundersfoot and took up a salesman position with Lever Brothers, he soon met up with Val Mitchell who later became his wife and they had three children, Alan, Simon and Jo, who he loved dearly.

David also worked for Securicor, while his last employer was T. P. Hughes and Son, where he worked in the furniture department.

David was a great sportsman in his youth, playing rugby for Narberth, cricket for Saundersfoot and Droitwich.

Later in life, David took up golf where he played for Tenby and Droitwich Clubs and was actively involved in the social side of both clubs.

David will be greatly missed by family. Predeceased by his dear wife Val in 2012, he leaves to mourn dearly loved children - Alan (son), Simon and Joy (son and daughter-in-law), Jo and Gerald (daughter and son-in-law), cherished grandchildren - Thomas, George, Tobin, Freya, Chris, Ryan and Josh, great-grandchildren - Oliver, Finlay and Anouk, niece - Ann Blackmore, nephew - Stephen Rowlands.

The funeral service, conducted by Rev. Marianne Osborne, took place on December 2 at Zoar Chapel Funeral Home, , followed by interment at St. Issell’s Church.

Bearers were Thomas, Alan, George, Tobin, Gerald, Chris, Ryan and Josh.

MARTLETWY

The death occurred peacefully at home on December14 of Mr. Owen Llewellyn Morris, of Martletwy.

Aged 80, he was the devoted husband of Annette, dearly loved dad and grandad, much-loved brother.

The death occurred peacefully at Tenby Cottage Ward, Park House Court, Tenby, on December 16, of Mr. John Evans, of Cold Inn, Kilgetty.

Aged 88, he was the beloved husband of Valerie, dearly loved dad, grandad and great-grandad, much-loved brother.

The death occurred peacefully at Ashdale Nursing Home, Pembroke, on December 18, of Mrs Margaret ‘Peggy’ Humber, of Pembroke Dock.

Aged 105 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Victor and formerly of Humber’s Hairdressers, Dimond Street, Pembroke Dock.

Much-loved, she will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

The death occurred peacefully on December 12 at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen, of Mr. David Wallace Wilson, of Coldwell Farm, Red Roses.

Aged 84, he was a devoted brother of Ray and the late Vaughan, dearly-loved brother-in-law of Janet, much-loved uncle of David, Julie and Susan and great uncle of Isabella.

The death occurred peacefully at South Pembs Hospital, Pembroke Dock, on December 7, of Mr. David Elwyn Scourfield, affectionately known as Elwyn, of High Street, Pembroke Dock. He was 80.

The death occurred peacefully at West Wales General Hospital on Wednesday December 14, of Mr. Anthony Albert ‘Tony’ Preston, of The Green, Pembroke. He was 76.
