On November 7, from 7 pm onwards, a celebration party will take place in the De Valance, Tenby, to honour athletes from the county who have taken part in any or all of the last five Ironman Wales events.
The event party is being put on by Clr. Wynne Evans, chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council, and will be funded personally by him.
Clr. Evans said; “For the last two Ironman events, I have had the great honour of handing out the medals to the competitors, along with the Mayors of Tenby, and this party is my way of saying thank you to all involved in making Ironman Wales a world event.
“Competitors from 44 countries took part earlier this month with 186 county athletes. I have huge respect for all of them. There will be live music, big screens showing Ironman ’15 footage. The event will run till way past midnight, plus there’s free entry, so bring your medals, wave your flags and wear your t-shirts.”
Clr. Evans added: “Huge thanks to the Mayor of Tenby and the De Valance Trust for giving the venue free of charge. Skycam Wales, who did a outstanding job on Ironman Wales, has kindly set-up an events page on Facebook for all details etc., and we hope to do a mega Ironman picture.”
