The new summer term saw Ysgol Brynconin welcoming two new pupils, Owain Davies and Bradley John, to their midst. They'd like to extend a warm welcome to them both, as well as to Miss Siân Robinson, who joins the teaching staff for the term.
They also welcome Mrs. Bethan Phillips to their staff to assist with the running of the lunchtime Lego and chess clubs.
The term has already proved a busy one with the pupils of Class 4 preparing a short film for Oxfam's 'Send my friend to school' campaign. More details will follow when the film is ready. The pupils also visited Ysgol y Preseli to see their celebratory show 'Y Garreg Las'.
For the second year in succession, some Year 6 pupils travelled to Cardiff's Millennium Stadium for the annual award ceremony of football charity 'Show Racism the Red Card'.
Tallulah Ray (pictured) chose to take some of her classmates with her to receive the charity's runner-up prize in the annual poetry competition open to both primary and secondary schools. She received a goody bag of prizes, including two tickets to see the Scarlets play at home and a class trip to see Haverfordwest FC.
Tallulah was one of the two pupils who represented Ysgol Brynconin at a creative writing workshop at Ysgol y Preseli. Along with Sioned Dugmore, she worked with poet author Ceri Wyn Jones to create some wonderful work.
Congratulations to the school's hockey team which recently won the Pembrokeshire hockey tournament that was held in Pembroke during the first week of the term. They will now go on to represent the county in the next round held to be held in Carmarthen.
The swimming team also tasted victory in the Preseli Family of Schools Swimming Gala held in Crymych recently. The team swam well to retain the trophy for the fourth year in succession. Congratulations to all involved.
