Strawberry Cream Teas: Next Saturday, June 22, from 3 to 5 pm. For only £3 you'll have a bowl of delicious strawberries with a freshly baked scone with jam and cream, as well as a nice cup of tea (or coffee). Tickets are available from committee members or at the door on the day. Stalls include plants and cakes, as well as a raffle. Proceeds are for the hall to help build a fund towards work needed on the hall's roof.
Craft Fayre: On Saturday, July 13, from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. Stalls will include a wide selection of crafts from local artisans (woodcrafts, photo pictures, greeting cards, jewellery, knitted items, etc. etc.). Little Melodies: A fun, energetic, musical singing and movement class, with nursery rhymes and songs aiming to enhance a child's pre-school education by encouraging their interests and enjoyment of music. 1st Whitland Rainbows: Rainbows is the Girl Guiding section for girls aged five to seven. It follows the Rainbow Jigsaw programme, which involves a wide range of activities and games. Computer classes: Would you like to speak for free with friends and relatives who live far away or even abroad? Maybe you would find it useful to do some of your shopping online, for the things you can't get locally. You might have heard of Facebook and how it gets people in touch with old friends one has lost touch with. These are just some of the many things you can learn during the computer classes in the Whitland Memorial Hall on Thursdays afternoons. If you already know the basics of how to use a computer but would like to learn a bit more there is a class just for that. For absolute beginners, a new class will start after the summer holidays. Job Club: Are you looking for work and don't have easy access to a computer to make the most of your Universal Job Match account and what the internet has to offer for job searches, etc? The Job Club offers free use of computers and internet to create and access your Universal Job Match account without having to travel to Carmarthen. Currently, the Job Club meetings have been cut to just once a month (second Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm) due to low numbers, but its frequency can be increased if the need arises. Produce Market: The next Market will be on the second Saturday of July in the Whitland Memorial Hall with top quality fresh local produce. Freshly baked delicious cakes and savouries, jams, sauces, chutneys and many other preserves will be on offer, as well as organic lamb and beef, seasonal vegetables, plants, free range eggs and fish. It is also a good opportunity to share a nice cup of tea/coffee and a bacon roll and a good chat with friends.
