‘Plastic Free Tenby’ campaigners have suggested targeting other areas of the town for a wider clean-up.

Volunteers recently joined the group for a ‘Big Beach Clean’ of Tenby’s sands, and at Monday night’s meeting of Tenby town council, Clr. Laurence Blackhall suggested that were areas around the town where there was an ‘accumulation of plastic’ rubbish that needed targeting for a wider clean, including the train station, grass verges, the Ritec and areas around Greenhill School.

He also praised Pembrokeshire County Council for providing ‘two-minute beach clean boards’ that would be located by the Dennis Cafe on Castle Beach and the North Beach cafe.

The next meeting of the Plastic Free Tenby group will take place at Church House on Wednesday, June 6.
