Tenby and Narberth have a new police Inspector who took up the role at the beginning of September.

Daniel Bower has 15 years service with Dyfed Powys Police and has predominantly performed his duties at the front line of policing.

He started his service in Pembroke Dock and after five years as a constable gained experience in the rank of sergeant when he was later promoted.

Insp Bower has served as a front line police officer all over Pembrokeshire, but this is his first time in Tenby.

Raised in Llangwm and Llanstadwell, he went to school in Milford Haven and studied at Manchester Metropolitan University.

“I am very much looking forward to working in one of the most beautiful places in our force area,” he said about his new role.

“It presents many unique challenges, but I am confident, with the support of a well established team of response and neighbourhood policing officers and together with members of the community, local partners, business traders and licensees I can maintain the standards of service achieved by my predecessors.”

Insp Bower said that schemes such as Behave or Be Banned (BOBB) and the much publicised Operation Lion will be at the forefront of dealing with the problems that face Tenby town especially in the summer.

Getting out and about and speaking to the community is one way in which Insp Bower intends to find out exactly what the the local communities want from their local police.

Officers from neighbourhood polling are constantly finding new ways of dealing with anti-social behaviour in the section that can cause some members of the public stress and anxiety, this is another theme that Insp Bower fully intends to remain at the front of police priorities.

Each ward, including the rural areas, which cover up as far as Maenclochog in the north, Carew in the west and Amroth in the east, has a dedicated team of PCSOs trained to deal with community issues.

Surgeries are held in all areas of the section whereby a PCSO is on hand to discuss, face to face with members of public any problems they feel that the neibourhood policing team can help with.

The dates and times of such surgeries and meetings are as follows: Tenby - St Johns Church surgery every Wednesday from 10.30 am to 12 noon (replacing the old Tenby PACT); Penally luncheon club - 1.20 to 2.20 pm, between October 21 and November 18; New Hedges Surgery, 10 am to 12 noon, October 5 to November 2; Tenby Market Surgery, 10 to 11 am, October 7 to November 4; Tenby - Greenhill School, school canteen Thursdays from 1.30 to 2.30 pm; Skrinkle estate surgery, last Friday of each month, from 11 am to 12 noon; Manorbier village hall surgery, last Friday of each month, from 12 to 1 pm; Jameston Stores surgery, last Friday of month, 2 to 3 pm; St Florence Stores surgery, last Wednesday of month, 3 to 4 pm; Manorbier school surgery, last Wednesday of month, 2.30 to 3 pm; New Hedges community hall meeting, second Tuesday of the month at 6.30 pm
