Often life brings knocks. Just as often God uses these knocks for his opportunities. It's never easy facing trouble; whether caused through wrong choices, other people's actions or for reasons we just don't know. We often wonder...'why!?'

Joseph was sold as a slave by his own brothers, then wrongly imprisoned for years. Things looked hopeless, yet Joseph was in the right place at the right time. Eventually becoming Prime Minister, Joseph saved his people. What they meant for harm, God used for good. (Genesis)

Paul was imprisoned, persecuted and ship wrecked! This suffering granted opportunities to reach people who would have otherwise been unreachable.

King David was no stranger to opposition. He knew what it was to be a shepherd. He calls God 'My Shepherd' writing: 'Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life...' (Psalm 23)

Shepherds provide for and watch their sheep. When danger comes, the shepherd steps in; defending from attacks.

The Good Shepherd, God, sacrificed His one and only son Jesus, The Lamb of God, so we can be his children too; calling Him - 'Lord', 'Father', even 'Daddy'.

Whether we face hard times, disappointments or if things are good, God is with us.

When things go wrong we can rely on God's goodness; remembering that he who started the good work within us, will continue his work until it is finally finished. (Philippians 1:6)

Do you want to know God and start to trust in his goodness?

Sometimes there's an unbelief fog blocking our view of God. Perhaps we try to win God over with good works? We can never earn God's approval, even our best acts are like filthy rags compared to God's perfection.

Are we doomed? Not at all! We can have God's approval for free, because of Jesus' goodness towards us.

If you feel like a lost sheep, God says: "I know the plans I have for you... plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29)

Why not let God's goodness and mercy follow you for all the days of your life?

If you turn and talk to God, He will listen. If you genuinely look for God, you will find Him; when you go after Him with all your heart.
