Councillor Joshua Beynon (seen about to cut the ribbon) was on hand for the Grand Opening of the Greenacres Rescue Shop in Pembroke Dock on Saturday morning.

There was a show of force from volunteers, and they were joined by a good crowd of visitors ready to sample cakes and refreshments, buy raffle tickets and take a look at the large stock of donated items at the new premises in Dimond Street.

Greenacres is a registered animal rescue charity, based at Ebbs Acres Farm, Talbenny near Haverfordwest; supported by five local charity shops.

The Pembroke Dock shop has always been well supported, but an increase of footfall has already be noticed since the move. Hopes are high that the larger, more visible premises may further their fundraising efforts.

Clr. Beynon, who has visited the charity’s headquarters, seeing for himself the range of animals helped, and whose own dog Billy is a rescue dog, described Greenacres as “a fantastic charity that is always in need of support.”

So next time you are in Pembroke Dock, make sure you visit the new Rescue Shop in Dimond Street.
