The new footpath that links Jesse Road to Station Road has opened to the public and is already proving a popular new route for walkers, but most importantly is the link it has for schoolchildren using the swimming pool in Station Road.
All this was achieved by hard work to secure a Welsh Government grant under the Safe Routes in the Community project which was a lengthy process and was carried out by a very able team back in County Hall, with a magnificent result for Narberth.
County Clr. Wynne Evans said this valued new footpath just goes to show what can be achieved when groups and individuals work as one.
The work was carried out by G. D. Harries, under site foreman Mark Philpin and his team, who have done a wonderful job
Said Clr. Evans: "It is worth noting that all current work projects in Narberth are being done by Pembrokeshire firms who employ local people, something I am personally very proud of.
"I must praise our dedicated team of on-site county council officers, namely Jonny Sutton and Parry Lloyd, who have ensured the work was completed in time for the new school term.
"I have met with officials from Narberth Football Club on several occasions and they have been supportive throughout the process and to them I am especially grateful."
