In October, Santa was doing his early rounds in the district checking out children’s addresses in the new housing estate in Narberth. With his trusty companion Rudolph he pulled into Gravell’s Kia Garage on Redstone Road asking for help.

Rotarian Ian Gravell kindly loaned him a portable SATNAV and he is seen demonstrating the kit to Santa with two of the helpful staff helping him. This will help Santa to check out where he will be delivering his parcels on Christmas Eve. Santa will also be looking in on the Narberth Town Santa Fun Run on Sunday, December 8. This will take place at 12 noon and entrants of all ages and ability may take part on the wheelchair-friendly 3K route.

It is not a race, so revellers can stroll with youngsters in tow or they can jog along at a pace which suits them. Adults will finish up with a free glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. Other refreshments and hot meals will also be available from the cash bar at the Rugby Club. There will also be a celebration party for all age groups with a disco in the lounge bar. It will certainly be a great day out in the build up to the Season of goodwill for those taking part.

Details of how to enter are on the Rotary website: nwrotary.co.uk The website is now open until November 30, so reserve your place early to avoid disappointment.

Narberth and Whitland Rotary are very grateful for generous sponsorship received from Rob Chell, builder; Ivor Rees and Son, Electricians; Folly Farm and Zoo; Castell Howell; Clive Preece Developments; The Queens Hall and Andrew Jenkins Disco.

Each entrant will pay a fee depending upon age and they will receive a full red suit with white trim and a black belt, a white beard and a red hat, plus a medal if they complete the course. Children aged seven and under will enter free and they will receive a red hat and a medal plus some sweets at the end of the course presented to them from Santa’s Sleigh (courtesy of Narberth and Whitland Round Table).

All runners will receive an entrance number which they should keep to be entered in a free raffle provided they arrive at the Rugby Club finish line.
