Royal Mail staff leaving the new delivery office depot in Narberth recently had an untimely delay when their vehicles parked on land alongside their work’s premises were blocked in by a tractor.

A member of postal staff (who did not wish to be named) told the Observer that the matter which occurred on Saturday, December 14, could very easily have escalated and ended up ‘ugly’ as it was left to disgruntled posties to sort out to make sure that they could get home that evening.

“We’ve been told that we are allowed to park on this strip of land by management since we started working at the new site, but when we returned to our vehicles at the end of our shift, we had been blocked in by a tractor on purpose, and found we couldn’t go home that evening,” said the postie.

“It was left to two posties to sort out, and by the time the police arrived, the matter had been resolved, but anything could have happened and it could have turned ugly. It wasn’t a pleasant scenario!” they added.

A?spokeperson for Dyfed Powys Police stated that they received a report that several cars had been blocked in by a tractor on private land at Rushacre Enterprise Park in Narberth at around 3.20 pm on Saturday, December 14.

The tractor was moved by 6.20 pm.
