Guy Manning and Warren Heaton are exhibiting their work at Oriel Q - Queen's Hall Gallery until November 15.
Both artists have captured this beautiful county in different styles. Warren uses textures and colour to great effect, while Guy uses light to capture the times of day and fleeting moments.
Warren said: "The beauty and drama we experience in the landscape is all too often of a transitory nature, containing nothing more than a fleeting gesture, or a moment in our being. I want to evoke the most ordinary scene with a 'melancholy grandeur', with a drama of light and shade. I want to allude to a desire for a sense of solitude, not only within the landscape but within ourselves."
Guy added: "Long looks and short glimpses are what we take from our travels and wanderings. Our association with land, be it through myths, literature, dog walking, gardening, travelling, agriculture, mushrooming, reality, dream and history are constantly shaping us, and our response to what land means to us is ever-changing."
Also on show in Oriel Fach is a colourful collection of Jan Hagen Bossom's silk paintings and embroideries. Her work vibrates with the colours of flowers and she will be in the gallery on Fridays and Saturdays 12-3pm discussing her work throughout the month.
On the stairs, Mim Woodward shows photographs entitled 'Life as Performance'. With references to binge drinking and our societies growing concerns over Britain's youth's love affair with alcohol, these images, whilst documenting ages and faces, also capture this specific group of people acting out their own play on a Friday and Saturday night.
The gallery is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm. Visit http://www.orielqueenshallgallery.org.uk">www.orielqueenshallgallery.org.uk for more information.
