"One of the best we've had for years" was how Mayor of Narberth, Clr. Mrs. Ruth Platt described Sunday's civic celebrations.
The annual civic parade through the town followed by the civic luncheon kicked-off this year's 30th Narberth Civic Week.
Despite the weather, the procession around the one-way system to Bethesda Baptist Chapel was a colourful sight.
Among those on parade were Whitland ATC, the two standard bearers for both the men's and women's sections of Narberth Royal British Legion, Darren Thomas and Phillips Jenkins, Guides and Brownies, Cubs and Beavers, and Narberth Cadets. Parade marshall was Paul Mason.
Mayors attending were from Haverfordwest, Fishguard, Newport, St. David's, Pembroke Dock, Whitland, Neyland, Laugharne and Milford Haven.
Among the guests was Clr. Mrs. Anne Hughes, chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council, and Wyn Calvin MBE, president of Civic Week.
The service at Bethesda Baptist Chapel was conducted by Rev. Chris Rees. Guests used both the chapel and the undercroft.
The luncheon followed at the Queen's Hall where toastmaster was Nicholas Evans and guest speaker was John Davies JP.
"It was an excellent day," said Clr. Mrs. Platt afterwards.
"Despite the weather, the whole week has been successful and I have enjoyed attending as many of the events as possible and am of course very much looking forward to the carnival tomorrow and keeping my fingers crossed for a sunny day!"
Clr. Mrs. Platt's claim to fame this week so far has been saving a spot kick by Welsh International Joe Allen at the Beat the Goalie contest at Bloomfield astro pitch on Monday!

A very successful car treasure hunt was held on Sunday evening, with 34 cars being set off from outside of Gardenia by the Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Ruth Platt, and her consort, Mr. Mike Platt.

Grateful thanks are extended to Mr. Nigel Rossiter for once again setting the course.
Teen treasure hunt
Ten teams took part in the new Civic Week teen treasure hunt for all older than primary school age children which was held on Friday.
