They say there’s a novel in all of us, but have you already written one and never tried to get it published?
This year’s Narberth Book Fair could have the answer as it is offering bookable, one-to-one ‘Meet the Editor’ sessions for all aspiring writers.
Caroline Oakley from Honno Press and Janet Thomas from Firefly Press (for children’s books) will be providing practical advice and constructive feedback on synopses submitted by August 31.
“It is so rewarding to help writers hone their skills and to share their delight if their books are read and loved,” said Caroline, who is looking forward to meeting writers in Narberth. Details of costs and how to book aslot are available on the website www.narberthbookfair.co.uk.
The Narberth Book Fair will be at the Queen’s Hall on Saturday, September 22, between 9.30 am and 4 pm, and will again coincide with the ever-popular Narberth Food Festival.
The fair brings together 45 authors from across Wales and beyond, all ready to chat, sign and sell their books. Entry to the fair is free as are the associated talks, panel discussions and children’s story time sessions.
All genres will be represented and writers attending this year include Sara Gethin, whose novel ‘Not Thomas’ was shortlisted for the 2017 ‘Not the Booker Prize’, John Nicholl, highly successful writer of psychological suspense thrillers, Judith Barrow, family saga and contemporary fiction author, Colin Parsons, children’s science fantasy whizz and historical crime writer Thorne Moore.
