Dylan Morgan-Thomas, who is nine years old and goes to St. Teilo’s School recently wrote a poem for a school project. It was read by Rev. Alex Grace at Dylan’s Nana’s funeral. The poem is called ‘my unicorn’ and has “blown everyone away who reads it”, says his mum Helen.
My unicorn turns my
darkest dreams into the
brightest light.
He turns my anger into
flames that burn up the
sky and disappears like a
puff of smoke.
He can turn my sadness
into water, that flows
out to sea and I ride his
waves of peace.
My unicorn takes me on
wild adventures in the
midnight blue skies above
He never lets me fall.
He glides over the highest
snow capped mountains
and takes me to the end
of the world.
As long as he is with me
there is no place I would
rather be gliding silently
through clouds.
