Could you spare some time to help people see more of the county? Then “Bus Buddies” needs you!

PACTO – the Pembrokeshire Association of Community Transport Organisations – pairs up volunteer bus buddies with those needing extra support to get out and about on public or community transport.

This could be someone with physical, sensory or mobility impairments, including people using wheelchairs, as well as people with mental health or learning difficulties or social issues.

Adrian Davies, chairman of PACTO, has said: “We want to break down barriers to travelling on public and community transport services, so that everyone has the chance to get out and about.”

The organisation has appealed on social media for more bus buddies “most urgently in Narberth but also across the north of the County and in the Tenby/Saundersfoot area.

“We have a lot of excellent Bus Buddies, who love their volunteering, but we have a lot more referrals, and so we need some more volunteers to join them.”
