Local councillors have asked Pembrokeshire County Council for an idea of costings with a view to putting bins on the resort’s beaches over the winter period.

The matter was discussed at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, with members suggesting that they look into possibly funding the emptying of the bins.

Councillors recently called for signage to be introduced along the South Beach, directing members of the public towards bins in the car park to alleviate a long-standing problem of irresponsible dog owners dumping dog waste bags in the area.

Members were reminded that PCC didn’t assign anyone to clean the beaches over the winter months.

More recently, large amounts of waste, seemingly left behind as a result of fires being held on the beaches, has been reported by many locals in that area.
