From mini beast safaris to toasting marshmallows over a campfire, Colby Woodland Garden’s got all sorts on this August to keep the kids busy.
The National Trust site near Amroth has a packed programme of exciting events and activities that the whole family can enjoy.
Led by our brilliant ranger Sara, it all gets started with the Campfire Experience on Monday, August 3, where you can help make a campfire, swot up on your safety skills and toast some sweet treats. The event’s priced at £5 per child, with additional sessions also running on Friday, August 28.
Then take on the Tree ID challenge on Friday and Monday, August 7 and 24, and see how many types of tree you can find in the woodland garden. Look at the leaves, meander through the wildflower meadow and join in with the team games - it’s £3 per child to take part.
It’s all about creepy crawlies with the Mini Beast Safari on Friday and Monday, August 14 and 31. Discover the cool critters that live at Colby before building your very own creature out of clay and creating a bug hotel to take with you. The event is priced at £3.50 per child.
Or get crafty with the Colby Dream Catchers event on Monday, August 17. Using willow and wool, Sara and the team will show you how to make your own dream catcher to take home. It’s great family fun, with the workshops priced at £4 per child.
Sessions for all events take place at 11 am, 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm, with booking essential via (01834) 811885. Normal admission charges to the site do still apply, you can find out more at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/colby-woodland-garden.
